World Bank Approves $2.2 Billion in New Loans for Nigeria's Development Projects

The federal government will receive $2.2 billion in fresh loans from the World Bank to fund critical development projects.

According to the World Bank’s project list, the funding will support six initiatives across various sectors, benefiting different communities.

A total of $500 million is allocated for the Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus Programme, starting March 17.

On March 31, $552 million for HOPE for Quality Basic Education for All and $800 million for Nutrition will be approved.

Additionally, $300 million for Solutions for Internally Displaced and Host Communities Project is set for approval on July 15.

Another $300 million for the Health Security Program will be approved on August 19 to strengthen healthcare resilience nationwide.

The Building Resilient Digital Infrastructure for Growth (BRIDGE) project will receive $500 million following its approval on September 15.
