Wike Begins Reconstruction Of School Where Pupils Learn Under Fallen Roof

Just three months after a detailed report highlighted the dire conditions at LEA Primary School in Bagusa, Dei Dei community, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has initiated the school’s rehabilitation.

On March 7, 2024, a report titled “Nigerian Pupils Lack Classrooms, Learn Under Fallen Roof In FCT Government School,” accompanied by revealing photos, highlighted how teenage students were forced to study under a makeshift wooden structure with a collapsed roof, exposing them to the harsh elements.

In response, the civic tech group Monitng urged Minister Wike to provide a proper learning environment for the students. Monitng’s founder, Ilevbaoje Uadamen, confirmed that rehabilitation efforts are now underway.

Our team visited the site yesterday.”
