1. President Bola Tinubu has approved the National Construction and Household Support Programme during the National Economic Council meeting on Thursday in Abuja. According to a statement issued by the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the programme is aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, strengthening the economy, and providing immediate economic relief for Nigerian households.

3. Karu Market, in the suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, was engulfed by fire on Thursday. Abiola Adebayo, the Acting Director of FCT Fire Service confirmed the incident.
According to him, firefighters have been deployed to the scene. The fire incident which started at around 8 pm destroyed several properties in the market.

4. The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, said on Thursday that the Presidency had not approached the National Assembly with a request for new presidential jets. He, however, said should such a request be made, the Senate would approve it.
Akpabio said the National Assembly would not succumb to any kind of blackmail from social media.
5. Property worth millions of naira was said to have been destroyed by fire from the gas explosion that rocked a residential building with shops in the Jamata community in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State. The incident was said to have occurred on Wednesday night when a gas cylinder exploded in one of the shops below the building causing a fire that completely razed the building.
6. The Senate on Thursday extended the implementation of the capital component of the 2023 budget till 31 December. The upper chamber also extended the implementation of the N2.17 trillion 2023 supplementary budget till December. This follows the request of President Bola Tinubu for the extension of the implementation of both budgets.
7. The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesome Wike, has berated activist and lawyer, Mike Ozekhome over his failure to acknowledge that Nigeria has made some progress since the return of democracy to the country 25 years ago. Ozekhome in his lecture at an award event said democracy as practiced in Nigeria in the past 25 years has has not meet the expectations of Nigerians. But Wike disagreed with Ozekhome as he noted that Nigeria has made some progress in 25 years of practising democracy.

8. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Capital Territory Command has apprehended four suspected vandals and recovered an AK47 rifle. The arrest was contained in a statement signed by the FCT Command spokesperson, Samuel Idoko, on Thursday. According to the statement, the arrests were made in the Dabi Bako area of Kwali Area Council, Abuja, where the NSCDC’s anti-vandal team intercepted individuals vandalising armoured cables at the National Mathematical Centre.
9. The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has alleged that many private jets in the country are used for money laundering and drug trafficking. This is even as the minister on Thursday in Abuja inaugurated a ministerial task force to address illegal chartered private jet operations in the country.
10. The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation to unravel the true circumstances surrounding the death of the former Chief Executive Officer of Konga, one of Nigeria’s e-commerce giants, Nick Imudia, who reportedly died by suicide at his residence in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
