Protesters Shut Down Ondo Governor’s Office Over Killing of Farmers

Protesters have blocked Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s office in Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State, over the killing of five farmers.

Armed herdsmen allegedly shot the farmers dead on Wednesday morning in Aba Oyinbo, Akure North Local Government Area.

Earlier this month, herdsmen launched a reprisal attack, killing several people in four communities in Akure North.

The protesters carried the bodies of the slain farmers and placed them in front of the governor’s office.

They also blocked the Akure-Owo highway at Ogbese, leaving many motorists stranded on the busy road.

Authorities have yet to respond, but tensions remain high as residents demand justice and security measures.
