President Bola Tinubu has called on stakeholders in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to prioritize compensation over litigation in resolving land disputes.
The President made this appeal while commissioning the Guzape Lot II Infrastructure Project in Abuja on Saturday.
Highlighting the importance of collaboration and diligent planning, Tinubu lauded the completion of the project as a significant achievement. He praised Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT, for fulfilling the Federal Government’s infrastructure renewal promises to the residents of the FCT.
Addressing the stakeholders, the President emphasized the value of dialogue and compensation in resolving land disputes. “Litigation is not the answer, compensation is the answer,” Tinubu stated. He urged the district head of Guzape and other community leaders to focus on development that benefits the economic prosperity of all residents.

“Of what value is the land that is blocked by these high mountains and rocks that you cannot access, nor provide drinkable water?” the President questioned. He stressed that his administration’s priority is to deliver a good quality of life and a livable environment for all citizens.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the FCT Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud.
President Tinubu’s message underscored the importance of unity and shared commitment to development in the FCT, aiming for a harmonious resolution of land disputes through compensation rather than prolonged legal battles.
