The forthcoming budget presentation follows Tinubu’s earlier submission of the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper to both chambers of the National Assembly three weeks ago. The MTEF outlines a proposed total expenditure of N26.1 trillion for the 2025 fiscal year.

The Senate, through its Finance Committee, conducted two weeks of interactive sessions with heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to review revenue and expenditure projections before approving the framework.
