The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, welcomed a high-level delegation from Centenary City Plc.
Centenary City is a Federal Government Legacy Project designed to mark Nigeria’s centenary in 2014.
The master-planned development aims to create a smart city, attract global investments, and position Nigeria as a prime destination for business.
Alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda
Dangiwa emphasized that the Centenary City Project aligns with the Renewed Hope City agenda, offering various living options and facilities like sports and medical tourism.
He stressed the need for Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) to address the housing deficit and create jobs.

Government’s Commitment to Affordable Housing
Dangiwa assured that the government prioritizes affordable housing and fostering an enabling environment for PPPs.
The Ministry has received interest from potential investors and plans to invite more to explore opportunities in the Centenary City project.
Next Steps for Collaboration
The Minister directed the Ministry’s PPP department to engage with Centenary City Plc to facilitate investor partnerships.
The team will also be introduced to the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) for further collaboration.
Centenary City’s Vision and Funding
Senator Anyim stressed the alignment of Centenary City’s vision with the Renewed Hope Agenda and called for the Ministry’s support in securing funding.
He also suggested that the Ministry help facilitate investor participation to make homeownership more accessible to cooperatives and individuals.
Ministry’s Dedication to Affordable Housing
Dr. Shuaib Belgore, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring access to affordable housing for all Nigerians.
He assured the delegation that the Ministry remains focused on building, maintaining, and managing public housing assets nationwide.
