The Oyo State Government has launched an enforcement operation targeting illegal structures and indiscriminate truck parking along highways.
The exercise, led by Governor Seyi Makinde’s Executive Assistant on Security, CP Sunday Odukoya (retd.), aims to enhance road safety.
He stated that past warnings had been ignored, making strict enforcement necessary to prevent accidents and safety hazards statewide.
Major Adekoya Adesagba (retd.), Chairman of Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority, described the operation as a collaborative effort.

The joint task force includes Amotekun, Operation Burst, Federal Road Safety Corps, environmental officers, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
Abass Ademola, a Diesel Sellers Association representative, urged the government to provide alternatives, warning about unemployment and security concerns.
This crackdown reinforces the state’s commitment to maintaining order, safety, and environmental standards at crucial entry points into Oyo.
