Oyo Government Reaffirms Commitment to Advancing Real Estate Sector

The Oyo State Government has reiterated its dedication to the development of the real estate industry, emphasizing its efforts to provide housing solutions for both low and high-income earners across the state’s 33 local government areas.

In line with this commitment, the state will host its inaugural Real Estate Conference on December 4th, 2024, at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, at 10 a.m. The event is aimed at showcasing the government’s policies and initiatives to drive growth in the sector.

Speaking about the conference, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing and Urban Development, stated that the event is being held in collaboration with the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN). Themed “Positioning and Globalization of Oyo State’s Real Estate Sector: Road to Urbanization” and “The Necessity of Working in Concurrence with the State’s Vision and Master Plan,” the conference will explore opportunities for sustainable urban development.

Key highlights will include keynote addresses by industry experts, panel discussions on affordable housing and infrastructure development, exhibitions of ongoing and proposed projects, and networking sessions for stakeholders and investors.

Hon. Akinsete noted that the conference underscores Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision to position Oyo State as a hub for real estate development while ensuring economic growth and sustainable housing solutions for residents.
