One Killed as Ifon, Ilobu Communities Clash Over Land Dispute

Renewed clashes between Ifon and Ilobu communities in Osun State have reportedly left one person dead, with multiple houses set ablaze.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that gunshots echoed through the area from Thursday evening, with arson continuing into Friday morning.

Spokesperson for the Olufon of Ifon, Akeeb Adekunle, alleged that Ilobu residents initiated the attack, burning a primary health center and killing an elderly woman.

Meanwhile, Chief Adegoke Ogunsola accused Ifon hoodlums of terrorizing Ilobu residents and attempting a kidnapping.

Both communities have appealed for urgent security intervention to prevent further violence.
