One Dead, Four Injured in Building Collapse at Ajah, Lagos

A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday as a two-storey building under construction collapsed at Northern Vulture Estate, Chevron Drive, Ajah, Lagos, resulting in one fatality and leaving four others injured.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), in a statement, confirmed the incident and detailed the ongoing rescue efforts.

“Upon the arrival of the Shark team at the incident scene, it was discovered that a two-storey building under construction had collapsed at the aforementioned location,” LASEMA stated.

The immediate cause of the collapse remains unknown, with further investigations underway. LASEMA confirmed that an adult male was pronounced dead by LASAMBUS officials, while four other adult males sustained serious injuries and were promptly transported to the hospital.

The agency reported that their heavy-duty equipment has been deployed to the site, and rescue operations are still in progress, with efforts being made to ensure no individuals remain trapped in the debris.

Authorities have urged caution around the area as emergency teams work to manage the aftermath of the collapse.
