Ogun Monarch Urges Govt to Fast-Track Repairs on Collapsed School

The Alase of Ilase Kingdom, Oba John Olaifa, has called on the Ogun State Government to expedite repairs on Mayigi Community Comprehensive High School.

The school building collapsed during a rainstorm, killing 14-year-old Timothy Amosun and injuring nine others.

Oba Olaifa noted that the school was initially built by the community before being handed over to the government.

He urged the state to swiftly rebuild the structure to ensure students can resume learning without prolonged disruption.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, through his Special Adviser, Kayode Akinmade, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident.

The government has pledged to cover medical expenses for injured victims and relocate critical cases to specialist hospitals.

Additionally, the Commissioner for Education has been directed to assess the damage and oversee reconstruction efforts.
