Ogun Govt Directs Integrity Test on Collapsed School Building

The Ogun State Government will conduct a structural integrity test on a school building damaged by a rainstorm recently.

She stated the building would remain closed until the integrity test confirms it is structurally sound for immediate use.

If deemed safe, the government will reinstall the roof and restore the classrooms for students’ safe return to learning.

Salako-Oyedele assured residents that preventive measures would be taken to avoid similar tragedies in other public schools statewide.

The zonal education officer has been instructed to inspect abandoned school buildings to ensure safety for all students.

She reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to delivering quality education by maintaining safe infrastructure across all educational institutions in Ogun.

The deputy governor visited injured victims at General Hospital, Ipokia, providing reassurance and support from the state government.

She also visited the deceased pupil’s parents, offering condolences and pledging government support during this difficult period.

Mr. Moses Amosun, representing the bereaved family, expressed gratitude for the government’s concern despite the pain of their loss.
