NYSC to Begin Payment of N77,000 Monthly Allowance from March 2025

The National Youth Service Corps has confirmed that corps members will receive a new allowance of N77,000 starting March 2025.

Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, NYSC Director-General, announced this decision while addressing corps members at NYSC zonal offices.

The Federal Government approved the increase from N33,000 six months ago, following the enactment of the National Minimum Wage Act 2024.

A letter from the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission confirmed the adjustment, signed by Chairman Mr. Ekpo Nta.

NYSC Acting Director of Information, Caroline Embu, reassured corps members that payments would be made as scheduled without delay.

During his address, General Nafiu praised corps members’ service, urging them to remain disciplined, dedicated, and focused on national unity.

 

He emphasized NYSC’s role in fostering national integration, leadership skills, cultural exposure, and teamwork among young Nigerian graduates.

“With effect from March, you will receive N77,000 as your monthly allowance, as approved by the Federal Government.”

The NYSC management reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring corps members’ well-being, prioritizing their welfare in every policy decision.
