No fewer than 300 trucks from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) have arrived at the Dangote Refinery in preparation for petrol loading, scheduled to begin on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
This was confirmed by NNPCL spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, in a video shared on his X handle on Saturday. Soneye explained that the trucks are being positioned at the refinery’s fuel loading gantry ahead of the scheduled operations.
“NNPCL trucks are arriving at the Dangote Refinery in preparation for the scheduled petrol loading on Sunday, September 15, 2024. By the end of today, at least 300 trucks will be stationed at the refinery,” Soneye confirmed.

This development marks a significant step toward the commencement of fuel distribution from the Dangote Refinery, which is expected to have a positive impact on Nigeria’s fuel supply and distribution network.

Earlier reports indicated that the Lagos State Government is working to ensure a smooth flow of traffic around the refinery as loading operations begin, while oil marketers have denied any plans to boycott the refinery. The Federal Government has also stated that the Dangote Refinery will sell petrol exclusively to the NNPCL.
