The Housing industry in Nigeria recently witnessed a remarkable moment of recognition as Tpl. Nathaniel Atebije, President, Nigeria Institute of Town Planners (NITP) emerged winner of the Best President of Professional Bodies at the Africa Housing Awards 2023.
The Award is in recognition of his advocacy for improved urban development in Nigeria. According to the Executive Director, Housing Advocacy Network, (HDAN), Festus Adebayo, he hailed the sustained advocacy efforts of Tpl. Nathaniel Atebije in promoting better Urban development across the Country, and emphasized that the Award was a reward for his sustained efforts.

He said” the Award is a reward for sustaining advocacy for improved urban planning in Nigeria. It has been observed that since he took over, he has sustained the advocacy which he has taken to various states, some through quarterly media chats, to educate & re-orientate government attitude towards town planning”.
Adebayo also extolled the virtues of the NITP president and praised his pragmatic approach towards urban planning and development in Nigeria. The Africa Housing Awards 2023 event took place on the 17th of December, 2023 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja. The event had in attendance dignitaries and key players in the Housing industry from all over the World.
