The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a heat stress warning for 19 states, the South-East, and coastal regions.
Affected States
The most vulnerable areas include Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Oyo, Kogi, Nasarawa, Benue, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, and Cross River.
Other affected regions are FCT, Taraba, Adamawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Zamfara, Sokoto, the South-West, and coastal states.
Health Risks and Safety Precautions
NiMet warned that high temperatures and humidity could cause fatigue, irritability, reduced focus, and impaired motor skills.

Residents should stay hydrated, wear breathable clothing, avoid peak sun hours (12 PM – 3 PM), and use sun protection.
Authorities advise using fans, air conditioning, or shaded spaces to prevent heat-related health complications.
