In a bid to promote healthy living, community engagement, and sports development, Syda Promoters of Sports, Entertainment and Lifestyle is thrilled to announce a Walking and Jogging Initiative scheduled for May 17, 2025, at the Syda Lounge, MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

The event will be led by none other than Samson Siasia, Nigerian football icon and former Super Eagles coach.

The initiative is part of Syda’s broader mandate to not only advocate for healthy lifestyles but also to support the government in upgrading and maintaining sports facilities nationwide. This event will serve as a launchpad for encouraging a culture of regular physical activity particularly walking and jogging as simple yet powerful tools for improving health.

“Walking and jogging are among the most accessible forms of physical exercise, and we are using this opportunity to introduce them in a fun, engaging way for the younger generation,” said Mr. Segun Maku, CEO of Syda. “Our aim is to make healthy living entertaining and to embed these habits early.”

To emphasize the connection between physical and mental well-being, the event will also feature Dr. Adeline Shuri, a respected authority in mental health, who will provide practical insights on how regular physical activity can support emotional balance and reduce stress.

This campaign underscores a simple but powerful message: physical activity is key to long-term health. Syda is calling on individuals, families, schools, and corporate organizations to not only participate but to champion walking and jogging as part of daily life.

As Nigeria faces increasing health challenges from sedentary lifestyles and non-communicable diseases, Syda’s initiative offers a timely and vital reminder that change can start with a single step literally.
