New PenCom DG Omolola Oloworaran Assumes Office

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) announced on Wednesday that Omolola Oloworaran, the newly appointed Director-General, has officially assumed her role.

 

In a statement, the Commission clarified that Oloworaran will serve in an acting capacity pending her confirmation by the Senate, as mandated by Section 26 (1) of the Pension Reform Act 2014.

PenCom highlighted that Oloworaran is dedicated to advancing the implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). Her focus will be on maintaining the growth of pension assets, expanding CPS membership, and supporting coverage initiatives.

 

The Commission also emphasized her commitment to prompt retirement benefits payments and enhancing the pension investment landscape for better returns for contributors and retirees.

 

Omolola Oloworaran, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector to her new role. She is an accounting graduate from the University of Ilorin and holds an MBA from Manchester Business School. Her extensive background includes positions in prominent investment and commercial banks in Nigeria.
