Lagos Unveils 20-Year Master Plan to Transform Ibeju-Lekki

The Lagos State Government has launched the public display and inspection of the draft Ibeju-Lekki Model City Plan (2024–2044).

Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, announced this in a statement by Mr. Mukaila Sanusi.

The 20-year plan outlines infrastructure development, land use, and urban planning strategies for Ibeju-Lekki, a key growth area.

Olumide highlighted that public inspection would encourage residents and stakeholders to review the plan and provide feedback.

He emphasized that community participation aligns with the state’s culture of inclusivity and international urban planning standards.

“This process ensures community ownership and smooth implementation of Lagos State’s physical development plans,” Olumide said.

The draft plan will be available for inspection at five locations, including the Secretariat in Alausa and local government offices.

Inspection runs from February 26 to April 4, during work hours, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., across designated venues.

Olumide urged residents to engage actively, adding that all feedback would inform the final version of the city plan.

The final plan presentation is scheduled for April 11 at the Lekki Local Council Development Area Hall, marking its implementation.
