A quiet Sunday afternoon took a frightening turn when a three-storey structure under construction suddenly collapsed on Agarawu Street in Lagos Island.
The building, located near the Agarawu Primary Health Centre, came down around 2 p.m., trapping two workers beneath the debris.
Thanks to a swift emergency response, both men were pulled out alive and rushed to Lagos Island General Hospital for urgent care. Authorities say the rescue effort was sparked by a distress call received at a nearby police station, prompting a rapid deployment of personnel from the police force, disaster management teams, and other first responders.

The area surrounding the collapse has since been secured, and emergency crews continue to assess the situation. Though shaken, residents in the neighborhood are calm as officials begin investigating the cause of the collapse.
