In her first in-depth interview since becoming the Democratic nominee for president, Vice President Kamala Harris discussed her plans and policies with CNN’s Dana Bash on Thursday.

Harris emphasized her focus on strengthening the middle class, outlining her vision for what she calls an “opportunity economy.”

On her first day in office, Harris plans to implement measures to reduce the cost of everyday goods, invest in small businesses, and support families through initiatives like extending the child tax credit to $6,000 for the first year of a child’s life.
