Julius Berger Empowers 200 Women in FCT

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has empowered 200 women in the Federal Capital Territory with essential tools to enhance their economic independence.

The initiative, part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts, was commended by government officials and beneficiaries. Speaking at the event in Garki, FCT Mandate Secretary for Women Affairs, Dr. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, praised the company’s longstanding contributions to national development.

“We must appreciate Julius Berger for its commitment to infrastructure and community development. The company has consistently delivered projects ahead of schedule, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in construction,” she said.

Director of the Women Development Department, Aina Sanni, described the initiative as a major milestone, emphasizing the importance of sustaining the partnership.

Julius Berger’s Chief Risk Officer, Shakira Mustapha, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to women’s empowerment, noting its broader economic impact.

“When you empower a woman, you empower her family, community, and the nation. We remain committed to fostering economic inclusion,” Mustapha said.

The program provided beneficiaries with manual and industrial sewing machines, grinding machines, hair dryers, and gas cookers. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, highlighting the initiative’s life-changing impact.
