The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has initiated the issuance of provisional allocation letters to outright subscribers of houses under the National Housing Programme (NHP).
This announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Marcus Ogunbiyi, during a briefing at his office in Abuja yesterday.
The issuance of these allocation letters, which commenced in April 2024, follows a review of the conditions and procedures for selling NHP houses, as outlined in a circular dated December 29, 2023, with reference number DPBH/645/1/43.

Dr. Ogunbiyi revealed that several subscribers have fully paid for their housing units, while others have made partial payments. The information was shared through a statement by the Director of Press & Public Relations, Salisu Haiba.
He reminded all subscribers under the first batch offer that they have a 90-day window to complete their payments. In light of this, the ministry grants an additional eight weeks for those who have not finalized their payments.

“By this information, the ministry is informing all the first batch, outright subscribers, who are yet to complete their payments for the houses offered to them, that a grace of eight weeks is now given to them within which they are advised to complete all their payments,” Dr. Ogunbiyi stated.
He further cautioned that any subscriber who fails to complete their payment within this extended grace period will have their offer revoked.
