Badruddeen Tijjani, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State, confirmed the incident in a statement. He noted that the severe weather conditions led to widespread flooding that overwhelmed the town’s drainage systems.
