The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, has unveiled a new online portal to improve accessibility to government circulars for civil servants.
The launch, held in Abuja on Wednesday, aims to address challenges in accessing critical administrative documents, ensuring better governance within the civil service.
Speaking at the event, Walson-Jack emphasized the importance of circulars as foundational tools for governance, providing policy clarity and consistent communication across the service.
“Circulars guide decisions, clarify policies, and ensure seamless service delivery. However, their accessibility has often been hindered by time and changes in administration, affecting institutional memory and efficiency,” she explained.
The new portal, described as a “compendium of Civil and Public Service Circulars,” is designed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and service delivery by reducing administrative bottlenecks and supporting a responsive civil service.
Walson-Jack noted that the initiative signifies a broader commitment to modernizing governance through technology.
“This compendium is more than a digital tool; it reflects our determination to adapt and innovate. It demonstrates our unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence in governance,” she stated.
The portal is expected to streamline administrative processes, improve document retention, and ensure civil servants have quick and reliable access to essential resources, advancing the government’s modernization agenda.
This development underscores ongoing efforts to transform the civil service into a more effective and responsive institution, in line with global best practices.
