Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) has emphasized the importance of providing decent housing for every police officer, while commending the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, for his new initiative aimed at improving housing for police personnel in Nigeria.
In a statement signed by HDAN Executive Director Festus Adebayo in Abuja, the organization highlighted the need for police personnel to have comfortable and dignified living conditions.
“The provision of decent housing for police officers is not just a matter of welfare but also a crucial factor in boosting their morale and effectiveness in combating crime,” Adebayo stated.
The statement further commended IGP Kayode Egbetokun for his proactive approach in addressing the housing needs of police officers. Egbetokun’s new initiative is seen as a positive step towards improving the living standards of police personnel across the country.

HDAN also called on other stakeholders, including government agencies and private sector players, to support efforts aimed at providing decent housing for police officers.
The organization reiterated its commitment to advocating for affordable housing solutions for all Nigerians, including those in the law enforcement sector.
“We believe that every police officer deserves a decent home, and we will continue to work towards achieving this goal,” Adebayo added.

Adebayo also called on stakeholders to attend the police summit scheduled for Monday, 22nd April in Abuja, emphasizing the need to support the police to enhance their productivity and encourage them in the performance of their functions.
The statement comes at a time when the Nigerian police force under the leadership of IGP Egbetokun is making efforts to improve the welfare and working conditions of its personnel, including addressing the issue of inadequate housing.
