Gunmen Abduct Nigerian Navy Officer, Two Others in Abuja, Demand N100m Ransom

Gunmen have kidnapped a Nigerian Navy officer, Lt. Cynthia Akor, attached to the Defence Headquarters, along with two others in Mpape, Abuja.

The abduction took place Friday night, and the kidnappers have since contacted the victims’ families, demanding a N100 million ransom for their release.

A local source, who requested anonymity for security reasons, confirmed the incident, stating that Lt. Akor was among the three individuals taken.

Efforts to reach senior military officials, including the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Markus Kangye, and the Director of Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau, were unsuccessful as they had not responded to inquiries at the time of this report.

Similarly, Federal Capital Territory Police Command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, acknowledged awareness of the incident but had yet to provide official confirmation or further details.
