The Green Building Council Nigeria (GBCN) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), through its EDGE Green Buildings and Building Resilience Index programs, are set to host the Future Cities – Africa Green Building Summit 2.0 towards promoting climate-resilient urban development.

According to a press release, the event will take place from July 16th to 19th, 2024, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. The summit is organized in collaboration with the World Green Building Council Africa Regional Network.

This year’s summit, themed “Building Resilient Futures: Integrating Carbon Neutrality, Circular Economy & Inclusive Urban Development,” indicates the critical importance of transitioning to net-zero emissions and enhancing climate resilience in the real estate and construction sectors.

It will bring together senior executives from Africa’s 16 green building councils, delegations from major African cities, and over 500 local and international experts and stakeholders. Participants will include property developers, policymakers, urban planners, and industry leaders.

Discussions and panel sessions at the summit will provide a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration among stakeholders, delivering actionable insights and strategies for sustainable urban development across Africa.
