Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has officially launched the construction of 17 ultramodern court buildings across the state’s 17 Local Government Areas. This significant infrastructure project is aimed at enhancing the state’s judicial system.

The Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Ikechukwu Uwanna, revealed that the new court buildings will be completed within six months and will feature renewable energy capabilities, digital infrastructure, and adequate water supply. “We have now left the drawing board and descended to the field of play,” Uwanna said, emphasizing the state government’s commitment to swift project execution.

“I am extremely privileged to be part of the exceptional team delivering this vision,” Uwanna added.

The flag-off underscores Governor Otti’s dedication to equipping the judicial arm of government with essential amenities, ensuring that court facilities are retrofitted and made functional for use. The decision to build these model court structures across all 17 LGAs highlights Otti’s commitment to inclusive governance, ensuring no part of the state is left behind in his development initiatives.

This initiative also fulfills one of Governor Otti’s key campaign promises. During the pre-election period, he vowed to prioritize the welfare of the Judiciary, ensuring that Abia’s judges and judicial staff are treated with dignity and provided with the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively.
