A section of the Samsung building under construction at Banex Junction, Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, collapsed on Tuesday, leaving four people injured.
According to Nkechi Isa, head of public affairs at the Federal Emergency Management Department, the incident occurred when the Penthouse of the three-story building collapsed during casting.
She said no life was lost to the incident but four out of the ten construction workers on site sustained minor injuries.The four injured workers, she added, have been taken to the Wuse General Hospital for treatment.
In reaction, the Ag Director General of the FCT Emergency Management Department,(FEMD), Engr Abdulrahman Mohammed appealed to developers to adhere to the building code.
Engr. Abdulrahman also urged developers always to ensure onsite safety.
Recall that the Samsung Plaza was burnt after a fire incident in November 2023
According to the FCT Fire Service, the inferno resulted from welding activities near a pile of empty and combustible cartons.
