A devastating fire has destroyed property worth millions of naira, affecting at least eight shops in Oyo town.
The incident occurred early Tuesday morning in the Oke Asamu, Kosobo area of Oyo.
Sources reported that eight shops were completely destroyed in the fire, with the value of the damage yet to be determined.
The General Manager of Oyo State Fire Service, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
Akinyinka confirmed that eight shops were affected in the fire, which broke out at around 6 a.m.
He explained that the Oyo State Fire Services’ Control Room Center received the distress call and responded immediately.
Fire personnel, led by ACFS Oyedeji, arrived at the scene in time to manage the situation.
The fire spread across eight shops in a row of eighteen, causing significant damage.
