Fire Destroys Hostels and Offices at Jarma UK Academy in Sokoto

A devastating fire outbreak occurred at Jarma UK Academy, Sokoto, destroying students’ hostels, school offices, and valuable facilities completely.

A government delegation led by Secretary to the State Government, Muhammad Bello Sifawa, visited to assess the destruction firsthand.

The fire severely affected the Principal’s and Vice Principal’s offices, staff room, and a computer laboratory on the upper floor.

Students lost essential belongings such as mattresses, clothing, and blankets, leaving many distressed following the unexpected and destructive inferno incident.

Officials confirmed no lives were lost, and no student suffered any injuries despite the extensive damage caused yesterday.

The fire’s cause remains unknown, but an investigation is ongoing to determine the reason behind the sudden outbreak.

Muhammad Bello Sifawa sympathized with the school and reassured management of the Sokoto government’s support in rebuilding efforts.

Founded in 2018, Jarma UK Academy provides orphans displaced by Boko Haram insurgency with education, skills, and vital opportunities.

The institution combines Western and Islamic education alongside entrepreneurial training to equip students with productive skills for the future.

Authorities are evaluating possible assistance measures, ensuring affected students receive necessary relief and the school recovers completely soon.
