The Federal Housing Authority (FHA), under the leadership of Hon Oyetunde Ojo, is seeking collaboration with state governors to achieve affordable housing for Nigerians.

Ojo expressed determination to deliver on the agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government, emphasizing that the average Nigerian should expect a commitment to providing accommodation.

During a meeting with Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, Ojo highlighted the importance of state government support in providing land and other necessary assistance. He stated that the FHA, under his leadership, aims to provide houses for all classes of Nigerians and emphasized the need for people to take ownership of the projects delivered to them.

Governor Oyebanji commended the FHA for consulting all states, which he believes will help in understanding individual state needs and challenges, ultimately leading to better housing solutions tailored to each state.

The FHA’s approach includes building more one-bedroom and studio apartments, as well as delivering houses in carcass form, allowing individuals to finish the houses to their taste and capacity. This strategy aims to reduce the cost of houses and increase affordability.

The governor assured the FHA of his support, promising to provide as much land as needed, provided the development is completed within a specified timeframe.

The collaboration between the FHA and state governments is seen as a crucial step towards achieving affordable housing for all Nigerians, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the government.
