In a powerful prelude to Africa’s most influential housing and construction event, the organisers of the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS) has announced an Affordable Housing Awareness Walk to be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Syda Lounge, National Stadium, Abuja. To lead the walk is Festus Adebayo, the Convener of the global event who is also the Executive Director of HDAN.
This awareness walk is being organized as a curtain-raiser to the highly anticipated Africa International Housing Show (AIHS) 2025, which will take place from July 27 to August 1, 2025, at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The Affordable Housing Awareness Walk is designed to raise consciousness about the urgent need for sustainable and affordable housing solutions in Nigeria and across the African continent.
According to Adebayo, “Housing is not a luxury; it is a basic human right. This walk is our way of engaging the public, policymakers, and stakeholders to prioritize housing as a core component of national development.”
Participants from the built industry, civil society, youth groups, and advocacy organizations are expected to join the walk, which will also spotlight key challenges and opportunities in the housing and construction sector.
Mr. Segun Maku, CEO of Syda Promoters of Sports, Entertainment and Lifestyle, noted that the walk aligns with Syda’s mission of promoting community engagement through physical activity and meaningful causes. “We’re proud to partner with Mr. Adebayo and the housing community to drive both awareness and action,” he said.
The Africa International Housing Show has grown to become Africa’s largest housing and construction event, bringing together over 40,000 participants from more than 21 countries. This year’s edition promises a rich lineup of exhibitions, CEO forums, policy dialogues, and solution-driven sessions on affordable housing, construction innovation, housing finance, and urban planning.
The Affordable Housing Awareness Walk is open to the public and will kick off at 7:00 AM from the Syda Lounge at the National Stadium.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable sportswear and bring along placards with housing-related advocacy messages.
