Federal Government Flags Off Construction of 250 Housing Units in Gombe

In a significant move towards alleviating housing deficits in Nigeria, the federal government initiated the construction of 250 housing units under the banner of ‘Renewed Hope Estate’ in Gombe.

The project was officially launched near Gombe City Gate, on the outskirts of Gombe metropolis, with Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State joining forces with the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, and Minister of State, Engr. Abdullahi T. Gwarzo.

Governor Yahaya, speaking to reporters following the launch, expressed his satisfaction with Gombe being chosen as one of the pioneer states in the Northeast for this vital housing initiative. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ endeavors.

Arc. Dangiwa, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, elaborated on the significance of the ‘Renewed Hope’ project, highlighting its aim to tackle housing shortages and provide affordable housing options for Nigerians.

He revealed that the government’s initial target is to deliver 50,000 housing units nationwide, starting with two states from each geopolitical zone. Gombe, alongside Yobe, has been selected from the Northeast sub-region to kickstart this ambitious endeavor.
