FCTA Threatens to Revoke Abuja Plots Owned by Buhari’s Children, Gbajabiamila, Saraki, Others

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has issued a stern warning to some high-profile Nigerians and corporate organizations, threatening to revoke their Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O) if they fail to clear outstanding payments within the next two weeks.

In a notice addressed to 3,273 allottees, the FCTA targeted owners of plots in the Maitama District of Abuja, urging immediate settlement of dues. The notice, titled “Demand Notice for Payment of Right of Occupancy Bills for Issuance of Certificates of Occupancy on All Lands Allocated at Maitama II District, Cadastral Zone, A10, Abuja,” highlights the urgency of the payments.

Prominent figures named in the list include the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume; Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; former Senate President, Bukola Saraki; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege.

Former governors such as Theodore Orji (Abia), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Joshua Dariye (Plateau), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Jonah Jang (Plateau), Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Adamu Muazu (Bauchi), and Bukar Abba Ibrahim (Yobe) were also named.

Additionally, the list includes Minister of Sports, John Eno; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; and former Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.

Several lawmakers, both past and present, such as Dino Melaye, Kabiru Marafa, Stella Oduah, Danjuma Goje, Ben Bruce, Saliu Mustapha, and others, were mentioned. Notable figures like former APC National Chairman, Adamu Abdullahi, Third Republic Senate President, Ameh Ebute, and Yusuf and Zahra Buhari, children of former President Muhammadu Buhari, were also listed.

The FCTA has made it clear that failure to comply with the payment deadline could result in the revocation of their land titles.
