The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), in a move to enforce building regulations and maintain orderly development in the Federal Capital City, is embarking on joint site visits with Felix Obuah, the Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC), and the FCT Building Contravention Task Force.
The visits, which commenced in the Guzape District, has so far uncovered unauthorized structures and contraventions in the district and other part of the city.
Obuah promptly ordered the marking of the offending structures for demolition; emphasizing the importance of adhering to approved building plans.

He warned developers that construction should only begin after approval has been granted; stressing that strict compliance is non-negotiable.
The Coordinator said that the crackdown on illegal structures is part of the FCTA’s broader efforts to enhance urban planning and ensure safe development practices in Abuja.
He recalled that the Building Contravention Task Force, was inaugurated by the FCTA, for effective monitoring compliance and enforcing regulations.
