The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced the FCT Administration’s (FCTA) commitment to investing in road infrastructure to unlock the development potential of underserved communities in the territory.
Speaking at the inauguration of a three-kilometer access road construction in the Giri District on Thursday, Wike emphasized the importance of the project in fostering growth. He noted that the initiative would provide much-needed connectivity for communities around Plot 18 and serve institutions such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Academy located in the area.
The minister acknowledged the district’s slower pace of development compared to other parts of Abuja due to the absence of access roads and essential infrastructure.
“With an access road, everybody will come and develop the area, and that is what we are looking for,” Wike said.
He also highlighted that plot owners in the area would benefit significantly from the road’s completion, paving the way for increased investments and development activities.
The project reflects the FCTA’s broader agenda to improve infrastructure and enhance the living standards of residents across the territory.
