In a swift response to the escalating insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, called for an emergency security meeting.
Assuring residents of their safety, the minister emphasized the government’s commitment to providing support and resources to security agents combating the heightened insecurity.
The gathering, attended by heads of security agencies, FCTA officials, council chairmen, and traditional rulers, highlighted the urgent need for coordinated efforts to address the recent surge in banditry that has seen abductions and tragic incidents, including the killing of residents over ransom payment deadlines.

As the FCT grapples with the challenges posed by criminal elements, Wike issued a stern warning to area council chairmen to actively fulfill their responsibilities at the local level.
