The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has summoned MultiChoice Nigeria over its planned price increase.
Ondaje Ijagwu, FCCPC’s Director of Corporate Affairs, expressed concerns about recurring pay-TV price hikes affecting Nigerian consumers’ interests.
The commission warned that these price increases might indicate anti-competitive practices, potentially leading to unfair market exploitation nationwide.

MultiChoice Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer must attend an investigative hearing on February 27, 2025, at FCCPC headquarters.
The hearing follows numerous consumer complaints about unilateral price adjustments raising concerns about fair pricing practices.
