Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has announced his commitment to providing 1,000 affordable housing units and ensuring the availability of pipe-borne water across the eight local government areas (LGAs) in the state.
This pledge was made during a state broadcast on Tuesday, commemorating Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day and the 28th anniversary of Bayelsa’s creation.
Governor Diri expressed his administration’s dedication to improving the quality of life for Bayelsans, emphasizing the importance of access to affordable housing and reliable water supply as fundamental rights for every citizen. “Our goal is to build a new Bayelsa where every individual has access to basic necessities and opportunities for a better future,” he stated.
In addition to housing and water projects, Diri highlighted various ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for the people of Bayelsa. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to addressing environmental challenges and fostering sustainable development in the state.
