Deputy Speaker of the Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, is set to deliver a special presentation at the British House of Commons in London, United Kingdom, on Tuesday.

His speech is part of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Nations.

The Commonwealth of Nations, also known as the Commonwealth, is an international association of 56 member states, the majority of which are former territories of the British Empire.

Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu arrived in London on Sunday, March 10, 2024, and is representing the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass, at the event.

Upon his arrival, the deputy speaker engaged with his counterparts, including the speakers and presiding officers of member countries. He was warmly welcomed by the Speaker of the British House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, who also accorded him special attention.

After his presentation, Deputy Speaker Kalu is expected to return to Nigeria on Wednesday.
