A prominent Lagos family, E.J. Alex Kehinde Taylor, has reclaimed ownership of land along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway after a legal battle.
The ownership dispute ended with a binding Consent Judgment by Honourable Justice O.A. Ogala in December 2019, favoring the Taylor Family.
During a press conference, the family’s lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, criticized Lagos State Government for obstructing justice and ignoring the court ruling.
Ojo stated that the land, a century-old family legacy, was wrongfully occupied by the government without legal compensation or due process.

He accused the government of delaying compliance through bureaucratic tactics, illegal revocations, and other actions frustrating the family’s rights.
Court sheriffs enforced the judgment, and Ojo emphasized that the victory reaffirmed judicial independence and the rule of law.
The Taylor Family remains open to an amicable resolution but demands full compliance with the court ruling and government accountability.
Ojo stressed that continued government disregard for court decisions endangers justice, accountability, and property rights for all Nigerian citizens.
