Catholic Rehabilitates 13 Houses for 2023 Attack Victims in Plateau

The Social Justice and Human Development for Peace Initiative rehabilitated 13 houses for victims of the 2023 Christmas Eve attacks.

JDPC Coordinator, Benedicta Daber, stated that the project followed a NEEDS assessment conducted after the attacks in Waya-Mangor community.

Implemented by JDPC’s Emergency Preparedness and Response Team, the project received support from Mission 21, an international organization.

Daber explained that although all homes were destroyed, available funds only covered rehabilitation for the poorest victims in the community.

She assured residents that more homes would be rebuilt if additional funding becomes available and urged them to embrace peace.

Bokkos LGA Chairman, Samuel Amalau, represented by Gambo Malau, praised JDPC and Mission 21 for supporting the affected residents.

He pledged that the government would provide boreholes, schools, roads, and other essential amenities to improve residents’ living conditions.

Mission 21’s Country Director, Yakubu Joseph, represented by Boniface Kopdena, commended JDPC for utilizing provided funds efficiently and effectively.

Beneficiary Mapis Danladi expressed gratitude, urging individuals, organizations, and the government to support similar humanitarian initiatives in Nigeria.
