A journalist named Rogers, who covers the Rivers State Government House for his organization, was abducted from his residence in Rumuosi in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State on Thursday night.
He was reportedly followed and confronted by unknown individuals with a gun as he arrived home from work. The assailants then took him and his car to an undisclosed location around 9 pm.
According to a source, Rogers had recently attended an event in Ndoni in the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, where a Primary Healthcare Centre was inaugurated by Governor Siminalayi Fubara on behalf of the PAMO Educational Foundation.

The foundation was established by former Rivers governor, Dr. Peter Odili.
The source expressed concern over the abduction, stating that Rogers is a journalist simply doing his job and not someone wealthy.
The kidnappers have reportedly contacted his wife, demanding a ransom of N30m for his release.
Efforts to contact the spokesperson for the State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, for confirmation have been unsuccessful as she has not responded to calls or messages.
