Borno State, Nigeria — A tragic bomb explosion has claimed several lives in Borno State, after a vehicle carrying travellers from Kala-Balge to Gamboru-Ngala struck an improvised explosive device (IED).
The incident occurred on Monday near Rann, the headquarters of Kala-Balge Local Government Area. Although authorities have yet to confirm the exact death toll, local sources reported that at least eight people, including women and children, lost their lives. Several others reportedly sustained serious injuries.

Speaking to Housing TV Africa, the spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, ASP Nahum Daso, confirmed the explosion but said full details were still being compiled.
“I am aware that it happened. Please, I will get back to you. I am still gathering necessary information,” Daso stated.
Eyewitnesses described a scene of devastation, with community members rushing to assist victims. The attack has heightened concerns over security in the region, which has long struggled with insurgent activities.
Authorities have launched investigations into the incident, and security operatives are said to be combing the area to prevent further attacks.
