Best of AIHS Awards and Honours: Leading Exhibitors, Partners Win, Celebrate at the end of the show Dinner

The Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), a leading event in the housing and construction industry in Africa, supported by Nigeria’s Housing Ministry, has honored notable stakeholders and individuals for their exceptional contributions to Nigeria’s housing and construction sector.

At a dinner in Abuja marking the 18th Edition of the AIHS, Dr. Ugochukwu Chime, chairman of the Presidential Task Team on land reforms and former president of the Real Estate Developers of Nigeria (REDAN), emphasized AIHS’s role in celebrating and enhancing the efforts of those who advocate for and develop the real estate sector in Nigeria and Africa.

He highlighted that AIHS provides a platform for stakeholders to network, exchange ideas, and find solutions to challenges in the built sector while recognizing and rewarding excellence.

Festus Adebayo, the coordinator and the Board of the Africa International Housing Show presented the Real Estate Developers of the Year 2024 awards to Brains & Hammers Limited and Constrix Real Estate Development Limited, Modern Shelter two other prominent companies specializing in real estate, construction, and investment opportunities in Nigeria.

Recipients of various awards included Crown Luxury Properties, Lekki Free Zone, Thinklab Group Limited, Shelter Afrique, and El Sakem International. These organizations were honored for excellence in real estate development, support for AIHS 2024, construction personality of the year, corporate social responsibility, pan-African finance institution of the year, and public/private partnership of the year, respectively.

Individual accolades were also given to Prof. Olugbenga Timothy Nubi for housing advocacy personality of the year, and Ufuoma Ilesanmi, General Manager of Haven Homes, for her outstanding contributions to the real estate industry. Ilesanmi was recognized for her transformation within Haven Homes, where she began as a Sales Assistant and rose to General Manager.

Other award winners included Modern Shelter Systems & Services for Innovative Booth Design of the Year, Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company for Pan-African Secondary Mortgage Institution of the Year, IFC Edge for Sustainability Excellence, GMH Luxury for Customer Engagement, Dangote Cement for Industry Leadership, CDK Integrated Industries Limited for Excellence in Innovation, and Lafarge for Community Impact of the Year.

Additionally, NMRC received the Outstanding Presentation award, Think-Lab Group earned the Corporate Social Responsibility award, Family Homes Funds Limited won Excellence in Housing Finance, the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) received the Top Collaborative Effort award, Octa-5 was honored as Emerging Innovator, and the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development received the Government Support award.

The National President of the Nigeria Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Nathaniel Atebije, was recognized for excellence in professionalism. Other awards included Policy Advocacy, Capacity Building, Infrastructure Development, and Best Pipes and Tanks, which were awarded to Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN), C-STEMP, Urban Shelter, and Nigeria Pipes Limited, respectively.
