Banex Shopping Complex is set to reopen after the withdrawal of military personnel, who had previously shut down the two-building complex.
Reports gathered on Monday confirm the end of the military’s occupation, bringing relief to business owners and shoppers who frequent the popular commercial hub.
A shop owner, who requested anonymity, revealed that there is an ongoing meeting between the management of the complex and shop owners.
“The military men left about 30 minutes ago, and the management is currently meeting with the shop owners inside one of the compounds,” the source stated.

When asked about the details of the meeting, the shop owner mentioned, “The management are discussing the modality of functioning, but at the moment, we are hopeful that the place will reopen soon. I am only waiting till the end of the meeting for more details.”
A source at the Defence Headquarters confirmed the withdrawal, stating, “We are withdrawing. Issues are being settled.” When questioned about the possibility of the complex reopening for business, he responded affirmatively, adding, “Yes, that’s why we are withdrawing. As I said, the issues are being ironed out.” When pressed on the specific reopening time, he stated, “Today.”
