The All Progressives Congress (APC) has lauded Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, for his administration’s strides in infrastructure development, particularly in road construction and housing delivery.

Speaking at a press conference in Sokoto, APC State Chairman, Alhaji Isa Sadiq, praised the governor for his commitment to completing both new and previously abandoned projects, highlighting his administration’s achievements since assuming office.

Sadiq noted that Governor Aliyu had completed the Rijiya flyover bridge, a major project initiated by the previous administration, and had launched several new road projects across the state.

Key areas benefiting from the road network expansion include Sahara, Gawon-Nama, Ramen-Kura, and the Abattoir axis. Other locations such as New Arkilla, Mabera, Tudunwada, and Giwa Low Cost have also seen extensive road development, with about 48 roads currently under construction in Tudunwada alone.

Additional road works are ongoing around Koko Road, Saint Paul Primary School, J Allen area, Zamfara, Zungeru, and Shinkafi, all in proximity to the Government House.

The APC chairman also highlighted ongoing projects to remodel major roundabouts in Sokoto metropolis, including Kofar Taramniya, Gidan Man Ada, Gawon Nama, New Arkilla, Sama Road, and Justice Ladan Tsamiya, Agaie Road, and Kara area roundabouts.

On housing, Sadiq drew a stark contrast between the current administration and its predecessor, accusing the previous government of selling off government-owned houses without proper accountability. In contrast, he said Governor Aliyu is delivering tangible results by constructing 1,136 new housing units500 in Gidan Salanke and another 500 in Wajake, Wamakko Local Government Area.

“This is a clear difference in leadership and accountability,” Sadiq stated. “Governor Aliyu has proven his dedication to development through action, not just words.”

The commendation comes as the APC aims to reinforce public confidence in the party’s leadership and governance capabilities at both state and national levels.
